Has anyone been to Lakes (Volvo breakers on A1 near St Neots) recently, and can tell me if they're still trading, please?

Whenever I ring, I go straight through to voicemail. I've tried leaving a message and also emailing, but so far no response. I'm wondering if they've finally retired and wound up the business.

Drove past it the other Saturday & still lots of volvos there all piled up.

According to discussions on facebook they no longer answer the phone but are still trading on a cash sale basis. I do not have any personal experience tho'.

I wondered this too as I could do with a few bits - their website is no more. They had plans to wind it up and sell the land, but haven't been past in a long time.

I go past quite often and it looks to me like nothing has moved on their forecourt since 'lockdown' began, unfortunately I go past in the small hours of the morning so don't know if they're there in the daytime.

I never got any joy at all out of their website in the past and even on the phone it wasn't easy, fortunately being relatively close it wasn't too much of a journey to go in person, they always struck me as being 'old school'.

Their website seems to be up and down. It disappeared for a bit, then re-appeared, then disappeared again, but was back up last week.

Sounds like the only way to talk to them is to turn up in person...

I can confirm they are still operating. I managed to get through by using one of the mobile numbers on their website.
