I thought the bodyshells were built at the Rootes plant in Linwood outside Paisley. I am sure some of them were! In which case they would have been built by Boaby not robert lol.

Only the first 6000 P1800 bodies were built in Scotland for cars to be assembled by Jensen in Birmingham. After that P1800S and P1800E shells were built in Sweden and the cars were assembled in Gothenburg's Torslanda plant.

Owing to the anticipated low production run of the final 1800ES models (only 8000 cars in 1972/73), the assembly line was very labour intensive with hardly any automation, almost making the ES a 'hand built' car as shown in the video.

and quess what my delight was when i see the car OMG its only the car my dad fully restored and built in 3 days on the N.E.C stand for V.O.C with the help of his m8s and is !! the only p1800 owned by volvo still awsome stuff what a treat to see the car again pity it was in black and white the car looks 100 times better in fully high def color
