Allanw, I saw your explanation for the diesel throttle body being "stuck open" and after finding mine like this earlier this evening, it makes total sense. It seems this is not really a throttle body, but in fact an anti shudder valve.

As my car will not accelerate at all, I'm curious as to where the actual "throttle" is located, so I can see if I can pinpoint my issue

Yes, on the diesel it is an anti-shudder valve. As mentioned above, it should be open, and it shuts when you turn the engine off to effectively cut air and make the engine shut off quicker and not 'judder'.

Unlike on a petrol where the throttle body opens and closes in relation to the revs.
