I reckon a writeoff or one being broken with a half decent surround you could cut out. Ideally you need the scuttle section and halfway up the pillars. Its a massive piece of fabrication with the bends to sit the windscreen on and the curvature as well to fit the screen, i only had to do about a foot at the bottom right corner and it took me several hours to get the bends right....

Keep us updated

second thought here, try to get the surround from the top if you get the chance, the profile and bend might well be the same as the bottom but my top was less ravaged than the bottom

bad luck old fart
This is common at Aamazons. If you don't use Glass Sealing Compound, can be dapped off, between rubber and body like Liqui-Moly 6196 or Würth 0890100043 (würthguys and the company are thefts, the have sometimes the best products for bad luck) you will getthis problem again and again.
The rear window frame will look the same.
1. remove dash full. easy done, the most difficult is to remove steering colomn
2. Find a crashed amazon and have a visit with a hacksaw
3.a good panel beater/ coachbuilder will fix this easy. I have done this a few times by my own, your car is not soooo bad. Youwill need a shrinking tool and time
4. If fixed use the glass sealing compound!
I don't know anyone who has the panel in stock, for bad luck

good luck, regards, Kay

This is an excellent plan, as that area is much more likely to be intact on a car that is otherwise scrap. To the eye, the section looks to be the same all the way round - tbh, there is no reason why it should not be. Also the curvature at the top should be pretty similar but would probably need to be pie-cut a bit to match the curve of the base (the outer scuttle looks intact enough to use as a reference for the shape), but that must still be a far easier job than trying to recreate that double rebate from scratch.

Take out the rear screen first and see if that's in similar condition - a distinct possibility and one which could double the effort needed for a decent repair.

Just fabricate it. Had to do it many many times as this is a common rot area where moisture gets trapped. I normally build it up in short sections to help keep the shape

Default Horrible mess

Thanks for the comments,I guess I'll have to have a go at making repair panels as I don't reckon I'll find a replacement scuttle top.The rear window was as bad,but it is an estate and was visible,so I knew what I was getting, and bought another tailgate.
Ah well,my wife said there was no rush to get it on the road-good job really.

The horrors fully exposed-at least the inner part should be easy enough to make.
