Default amazon window rubber channel

Hi
Ive stripped a door down to the shell to prepare for painting and there is quite a bit of rotted metal along the inner part of the channel that the outside rubber seal sits in along the base of the window. are new metal strips available and if so how do they fit to the door frame ? Is is welded as i cant make out any spot welds but that could be my eyes or too much rust !!?
Anyone done this replacement ? if so whats involved ?

Hi red122
I had a similar problem where the channel was badly rusted and unusable so I removed it. It is spot welded to the frame and there isn't a replacement part available that I could find online so I purchased window weatherstrip from Woolies Trim part, no: 255, and attached this to the door using self taping screws. I have to say that it works extremely well and is more efficient at keeping moisture out than the original set up was.
