RE: prv264
Apart from using Volvo approved antifreeze which has a corrosion inhibiter in it, or some other well known after market brand with similar corrosion inhibitor present and making sure that the head bolts are correctly torqued down when replacing head gaskets (and retorqued after 1,000 miles) there is not much else you can do. It is best to replace the antifreeze mixture every couple of years. All the best, Peter |

RE: prv264
Hi
I have had 2 260's with PRV's and 4 different engines! The latest because of the crack found in the left hand side of the block. Each replacement has been 2nd hand. To prevent corrosion, Volvo say to keep at least 50% water/anti-freeze mixture in at all times. Also to change it every 2 years. So, unless other problems, do that when you renew head gaskets. Andy |
