Default 164 on ebay

Just noticed a very tidy 164e on ebay, a '74 model with big bumpers. Looks like a great car, with low mileage! Jimmy

The same car was listed on eBay last week. Bidding got to £1240 at the end of the auction. The reserve was not met. It does look clean and original.

Yes looks a good car, the bigger bumpers would have to go and the colour ain't one of the best! I'd be concerned about that injection system too!

Just in case you might like to try it, without major surgery you won't easily swap from those huge bumpers to slimmer ones. The chunky ones incorporate shock-absorbing pistons where they meet the chassis (like the early 240s), to meet crash-resistance regs that came out in the early/mid '70s for major export markets - thats when MGBs went from chrome to rubber bumpers too.

Slim-line ones merely bolt to the chassis more or less like the Amazon etc. The early (dropped) ones also bolt to the chassis but of course cars with those had deep metal grill panels rather that the subsequent less-deep plastic ones, so a mod to the front panel might be needed there: not tried it so uncertain.
