Default Phone Holder / Mount

The flat lid to the cup-holder section of the centre console is obviously reasonably convenient for holding a phone, but as a fan of Waze (amongst other reasons), I'd prefer to be able to have my phone held somewhere higher.

I've previously used a clip in, wireless charging one which monunted on my dashboard, see:

But I don't think it will stick to the leather dashboard, although I haven't tried!

The good thing about this is that the charging cable can be tucked away neatly without the need to plug it in every-time.

What are you all using - if anything?

I have a Brodit mount for my iPhone. It is mounted to the lower left of the Sensus screen. It's a little low, but I find it ok to use with google maps, which is my preferred nav app.

Thanks chaps. I did have a look at these - there seem to be about 4 places they can go. Photos would be great & thoughts on whether you have them in the right place!!

Thanks

So did you swap it for one which mounts in a different place, or just another one of the same, which fitted better?

I don't I leave the phone in the central cup holder area or the box behind it. I use Google Maps for navigation via Android Auto (when I am not using Sensus Navigation, which I often use).

I have a work phone and a personal phone. I wanted both in a cradle. I initially went for the side of the sensus screen nearest the driver. It never fitted that well and kind of mashed the underside of the leather. This means that a replacement would never fit that well even if better shaped. So I returned to Brodit and got same place on passenger side. As a bonus in this position you dont catch your phone when indicating. This fitted better and also I had a bit of experience so fitted it better also. I also have the one down by the ashtray. This is a stronger more stable fit but is too low for very easy use. This is no problem as I have which ever phone I am using for navigation up in the top holder. I have the adjustable non charging Samsung S3 onwards multifit holder fitted to the brodit car mount. All sourced from DSL via Amazon and about 20 quid for the mount and 20 quid for the holder so all in just less than 80 quid for 2 phones. I have an S7 and an S6 edge and they fit in these 2 mounts without clashing. Promise I will post a photo but it is always difficult to get it to work on this site.....

I have used Brodit for years. Also worth pointing out that they are very securely fixed. I've just changed to a new XC90 and pulled out the Brodit mount from my 18 month old XC90 with no visible marks left on the dash. Went straight into my new one with no fuss.

Have tried loads of designs over the years and now use these all the time - the ones that just push into the air vents and have a simple sliding bar to grip the phone. Cheap and easy.
