It should play them all yes. You can gets several hundred tracks on a 20mb CD, dependant on the sample rate. You'll certainly be able to get hours of listening.

yes a cd (750mb) will hold stacks of mp3s. A couple of those in the car will cover most journeys - although you may find navigation and menu structure isn't as good as an ipod-type interface.
to be honest, though, as a piece of advice to anyone looking at this who hasn't ordered their car yet - pay for the USB option. It is worth the money, even if it is just for future proofing. |

Quote:
Standard CDs will hold 700mb which will be around 150 tracks of MP3 using an average of 5mb per track for a 128k encoded file. Also be aware that the maximum number of entries (files and directories or folders) that you can have in the root is 512 which would limit you to ~2.5GB - to get around this limitation you need to put the files into directories where there is no limitation on number. This is a limitation (or feature) of FAT32. That is one of the reasons why MP3 players arrange the tracks in folders by album name, artist name etc I agree with Mu71rd - pay for the USB upgrade and remember the DAB preparation at the same time!! |
