Default Volvo / Motorola Handsfree & AEM - HELP! - Free TV modulator

Hi Everybody....

I know that this subject has been done to death.....

But... ive been diving all over the car today and apart from 34p in change, 11 severn bridge receipts, a fag & a complete tracker system! (now removed) i cant find the AEM module...

I have a motorolla bluetooth module (volvo part number 31201105) - it's a IHF1000 really...

My V70 (2000) has RTI (Nav) & parking sensors (but they dont mute the radio) - the head unit is an HU-603...

Question - Does or should i have the AEM allready fitted ? (due to rti etc)
& if so where is the damm thing !
.....or if not where should it go ? & will i need a software U/D to use it or is it just coded - (i have dice)

Has anyone fitted one of these ? -

Thanks

Steve

Hi Steve,

Your AEM should be located under the small right rear panel in the boot. If you take it out and look directly down in to the void you should see it mounted vertically there.

However, if your sensors don't mute the radio on a car of that age, I'd guess that you don't have it fitted - my R is of similar age and has it for the sensors, I don't think it's used for the RTI at all.

As for fitting one, yes that should be okay - it used to be available as an upgrade kit from Volvo to support radio mute with other mobile phone kits and is probably still available. At one point there were some on ebay for a sensible price - but you'll need the software for it from a dealer or independent with Vadis.

Shouldn't be too much of a problem though.

Good luck

Paul

Thanks Paul...

Didnt think there was anything worthwhile on that side!! - expected to find it on the other side or behind the radio... I'll have a look tommrow, -

I suppose at the same time i could fit my DAB & DVB-T conversion !! -

Thanks Again

Steve
