Volvo 5 series!

Just been looking at the press release for the new S80

Looks pretty smart but can't help but think it looks like Volvo have got hold of some BMW 5 series shells and popped their badge on the front.

Is it just me or are we heading for another spell of generic car design - I seem to remember seeing the new saab 95 and thinking the same, something I thought that Volvo had always managed to stay away from.

This said, I think if Volvo manage to produce anything like the M5 there'll be a few happy S80 owners in a few months time.

I like the new shape S80 but I don't think it's anything like the ugly BMW.

It may have borrowed a little bit of the latest Audi's look but Volvo have always looked quite individual so I'm sure when we see this in the flesh it will be a Volvo through and through.

Can't work out why Swedespeed have put their watermark/logo on the pictures, as they are from Volvo and in the public domain.

I don't really like the new s80. And the c70 is OK. I miss the trademark boxy shape of volvo. I mean I know we need a change once in a while, but I just feel like the volvos are begining to look too modern.

I think the new s80 is very nice looking indeed but its true it looks like an old s80 crossed with a new 5 series, even though i actually drive a 5 series i think that volvo should stick to the uniqueness they have had and lost in later years, since the replacement of the V70 classic in my opinion,

Cant beat a good old 240 for boxyness!!
