Default V50 D4 Where can i find the engine code ?

Does anyone know how i can find the engine code of my V50 D4 as i'm trying to find out if the Haynes workshop manual that covers 2.0ltr models will also cover my D4 engined V50, I recently bought a 2011 SE edition and the D4 version that i have must be quite rare in these parts as i haven't seen any others on the road, I'll be doing my own servicing and it helps to have a manual to locate filters and check capacities etc.

Download with bittorrent a cracked copy of vida and run it with the right windowsvestion if needed in a virtual machine , much more information in there than the haynes manual

Codereading can be done withthe torque app and/or a second hand chinese dice for 100 pounds wich is compatible with the downloaded vida
Much better than the raised bloodpressure if depended on the incompetend stealers

Default Engine Code Found !!!

I've just phoned Volvo customer relations in Berkshire and found that my engine code is D5204T , They said that they don't usually make the engine code available as it is of no use to the public .....I think they mean take your Volvo to a dealer and pay £260 for an Oil and pollen filter change ....Noooo! (price quoted recently at Arnold Clark Stirling )

And thank you 5cilinder ..I did try to find a downloadable workshop manual as i've discovered the shortcomings of Haynes in the past but i couldn't find one...i'll now follow your advice....Tell you what though it would be really handy to have this kind of info on this website !

Vida is volvo software to lookup parts, repair instructions/documentation and to do diagnostics with the dice interface
