2008 p3 v70 D5 185 manual. Just clocked 147000 miles. Bought at 140000 full volvo main dealer history and one owner.

Already had a new AC pump (at dealer cost). Love it to bits though. Brilliant car! Just driven down to Rome and got the ferry over to sardinia and it's been a dream.

My last car was a 54 plate S60 D5 163, facelift. With 235000 miles. Was unfortunately written off by some peanut rear ending me!

I am mildly concerned since my dealer said on a couple of occasions "geartronic never needs touching", it was only when I said I have read in lots of places it does if you use the car to tow, at which point they went away and came back and said "oh yes it has a tow bar (it's had it since it had done 10 miles, but only towed since about 28,000. it does however tow 1750KG several times a year) yes it needs doing every 54,000 miles"

At this point mine had done 64,000. The 54,000 they mention isn't in my handbook nor service book, it just says it needs a fluid change if used for towing or taxi work and people on here are suggesting 36,000. so hoping it is going to prove OK. It isn't as smooth 3,000 miles after the fluid change as it was say 10,000 miles ago, but will just keep fingers crossed and get it changed again at about 100,000

I have 855 TDI from 11/1996 (MY 1997).

Acquired in 2004. with 268.000 km (166.563 miles) on the clock.

Turned 500.000 km (310.752 miles) last week and you can see the car and the event here :-)

Still rides the original engine, gearbox, turbo, air-conditioning... Fuel pump only resealed. Clutch kit replaced at 400.000 km (probably for the first time). Measured average fuel consumption through the years was 6,5 l per 100 km (36 MPG-US, 43 MPG-imp). My record driving distance with one tank was 1.401 km (870 miles). Tank is 70 liters (little more than 73 liters when filled to the cap :-)

Hat off to implemented Audi 5 cylinder engine (engine code Audi AEL is Volvo D5252T).

Just joined as I have recently bought a 99 (V plate) V70 2.5tdi, a mere 176,000 miles on the clock, the 5 pot engine pulls like a train above 2k rpm, very impressed with its performance, I brimmed it yesterday, it'll be interesting to see what its actual mpg is once I've ran it to empty and worked out the mpg as such.

I say a mere 176k as I'm an HGV driver and some of our 63plate FH HGV's are well over 300k miles! - the car is just run in nicely I hope!
