1997 Volvo v70 t5 CD estate - Swaps, PX & for sale
Fancy a change of car now as ive had the volvo for a while now, strangely for me its been a very reliable car I'm used to my cars breaking down and going wrong all the time but this one has never put a foot wrong.
138,000 miles which as you know is fairly low mileage for these cars as a lot of them have done 170k+ Even though it feels like a 40,000 mile car. Tax runs out at the end of the month, if the new owner wants it taxing I still have insurance on the car so if you pay up front I will tax it for you. 12 months MOT passed this morning the 18th. Flew straight through first time. Its got full service history from the previous owners, had loads of money spent on it and has always been to volvo specialists. Only had a few previous owners 4 I think. Was definately somebodys pride and joy as it had no expense spared on it. I have just replaced the top mounts and drop links on both sides at the front so the front end feels very tight and positive handling no wollowy handling or knocks etc. Its got 4 nearly new bridgestone tyres all round on it, havent done many miles at all. just had a new wiper arm on the headlight and 2 new wiper blades. Recently serviced it with good fully synthetic oil, genuine volvo oil filter, volvo spark plugs, rotor arm, dizzy cap etc so it runs very well indeed. Cambelt was done at 120k with receipt for it and sticker in the engine bay. New fuel filter too As its the CD model its the top spec one, premium sound system, heated leather seats, 4 electric windows all round, heated mirrors, top tint windscreen, full winter pack(winter modes in the gearbox, headlight wipers etc etc). Its got absolutely everything on it including dual zone climate control. Pretty much everything works on it. Think the aircon could do with regassing as its not as cold as it could be. 10 disc cd changer. Trip computer will full MFA, miles left in tank etc. Being the t5 its very fast, 0-60 in under 7 seconds, 240bhp, 155mph limited top speed etc. 2.3 5 cylinder turbo which sounds amazing I'm really going to miss the 5 cylinder sound. The engine is in perfect health goes very well doesnt use any oil and can do around 35mpg when on a long run with economy mode on the gearbox. The auto box has sport, economy and winter modes on it to affect the way it changes gear etc they all work and engage properly. No clonking or problems with the gearbox at all. Brakes are all good and work well. No rust at all on the car its very clean in that department. It has central locking, full alarm etc. It also has a tracker fitted which only needs to be reactivated, I have all the paperwork for it you just need to pay the yearly fee for it to be active so no expense having it fitted think its only around £60 a year. Few small modifications : - Boost gauge fitted(boost is standard it has never been touched) Can easily be removed if you want to. Small square volvo badge removed from grill and a carbon fibre badge made. Carbon fibre detailing behind the number plate 1.8 badge and a few sleeper style stickers to disguise its a T5 all easily removed and only stuck on so no damage left behind. Massive boot, built in dog gaurd that retracts and hides behind the headrests as standard etc even though ive never had a dog in it. Minor bad bits(you knew it had to have some for getting this much car for such a small amount) : - Various minor scratches and dents around the car, no big noticeable dents or big scratches etc I just want to be totally honest and describe everything. Small scrape on the front bumper from previous owner. Slight light tapping from the engine bay, it doesnt seem to be anything related to the actual engine it may be from a pump but having a search round it seems a few t5s have this problem, its not tappets or anything major like that as thats all been investigated, stripped and cleaned etc its definately not the engine, been like it since I got it and there is no loss of power and ive never had a problem with the engine at all. With such a full service history and the fact its never been altered it wont be anything major. Like I said just want to be honest. Leather has no rips or damage etc its just looking a big tired and cracked, a bit of leather feed and a clean up and I'm sure it will look as good as new I'm sure but its always been good enough for me. Now down to business : I'm up for swaps or PX with money my way, would love a cheap sierra or something RWD. Preferable swaps are for something RWD, doesnt need to have massive power infact around a 2.0 would be fine. Although I'm pretty much open to anything so just try me. Oh and I don't want another automatic. Would consider a tramp drifter style car etc. If you want to just buy it, its up for £1400ono I'm located in wimblington in cambridgeshire. Pm me or reply here if you have any questions or offers for the car etc. don't think there is anything I have missed but if there is I will have added it. |
