OK it's home in all it's glory.

looks better in the pics than it actually is, but if there's nothing major wrong with I reckon it's worth saving, maybe you can polish a turd!!

Well as you said it looks ok from here(don't know in real life)

The R's are allways worth saving, when there's nothing fundamentely wrong with them.

Good luck in polishing your turd(just kidding)

Doesn't look too bad really, I'd still say worth it for parts alone if you have the time and space to dismantle it. Of course that would be a crime, so get polishing

Pictures are deceptive it’s a rough old girl, but it doesn’t smoke, overheat or rattle, changes gear OK so I guess I’ve a fighting chance. I’ll get it in bits this week have a proper look at it, first thing is getting it tested, then, well we’ll see how that goes

I'm doing the same thing as you at the moment, attempting to restore an 850R to it's "former glory".

All the best.

more news on this car, I bought it with no history, but thanks to Simon at FRF Volvo (RUFE) I now have a Volvo service history relating to the car, and when it was last serviced by Volvo it had it's 190K service while displaying 179K so all is good then? well not quite this service was done in 2002!!! and the car is now displaying 171K which is 8K LESS than 7 yrs ago, god knows what has happened to the car in these 'missing 7 yrs' or indeed how many miles it's actually covered.
