air con not working
The air con on my s70 p reg is not working and having read all the postings about this common problem I am wondering is there any routine I could follow to diagnose fault. Obviously the cheapest option first, I just spent £417 on Volvo service. I am just hoping that it just needs re-charging. I only own the car 4 months but there was a Volvo air conditioning service carried out june 2001 at 72000. (82000 on clock now)
Since owning the car I had my doubts as to whether it was blowing cold enough air but the nice weather today confirmed that all was not well when we opened the door to get out, it felt much cooler outside than in.!! regards Gerry mc |

RE: air con not working
Listen for the a/c compressor clutch engaging.
If it's cycling on for 3 seconds or so you're short of gas. |

RE: air con not working
For the uneducated, where should I be listening for the clutch engaging? With ignition on or off?

RE: air con not working
Start the car with air con off, listen to it outside the car and then turn air con on. You will hear the air con come on in the back ground and cycle on and off.
My air con works fine and cycles roughly at 6 seconds on and 6 seconds off. |
