should be straight forward job aprt from the dizzy cap wich will petrude into the cabin, just in the proces of collecting bits, also thinking of ditching the turbo and running a charger for smoother power and better mpg (in theory) and still not decided whether to multi-link the orginal live axle or make a full independent setup

FWIW, the Swedes seem to swap the dizzy onto the front of the cam, when putting a T5 in a 240 (which has next to no space behind the head). I guess they have to fiddle with the order of the plug leads, though!

cheers

James

not mutch to had due to been bisy ,but managed to make a swirl pot ad it in the tank and fit the high pressure pump and pipe it up and fit the vr6 fuel sender too , so the fuel gauge works

and going fit the hx40 cold side onto this smaller hotside 14 , which will make the dam thing pull ,

nice work but thought vr6 in fact most if not all modern vdubs had pump in tank? why you got external pump?? is it to get more pressure/florate?? most modern pumps are capable of running about 4-6 bar wich should be enough for about ish (guess top of head math) 1.8-2.5 bar boost wich (mapped properly) should be a good 400+bhp (this is only rough math please correct if wrong ((not know it all better than everyone else correct)) but correct if wrong)

any way STILL lovin' ya work powernut

I don't think that's the VR6 pump. I guess it's just more convenient. We've been pretty fortunate with the pump on Ryan's 740. We haven't touched the fuel system at all (beyond the injectors), and it is in no way short of fuel (at nearly 2 Bar of boost and with 630cc injectors...at the time).

cheers

James

hiya lab rat , your correct the vr6 pump will suply eneogh fuel for use with 36lb injectors and 440cc which is around 400bhp , but the problem is i needed a higher flow pump (da31 will keep constant pressures off over 800bhp) as the turbo , we trail fitted to my friends vr6 12v version was runing learn when boosting evern after adding 4 bar fuel , so after this pump was fitted , totaly differnernt has a constant flow now at 4bar with 580cc injectors as soon as the big hx40 spools it drinking fuel like water evern with a afr from 14.2 and 12.1 in high boost ,,

then redrilled /tapped/ground off and added a divider

then bolted it to the turbo snail , mounted and welded it on
to lift it just enoegh to get a wider return in there plus will make it better for the exhaust when the v bands arrive and ill also be able to change to run both turbos one for the road use which im fitting at mo and the other is for the track ,

welded up and fitted the turbo , and thought , **** how do i get a 19mm socket in there lol ,, thought time foe a little adapting mod ,,,,
thought ill get a allen key and weld it on the nut ,,, simple ,

fits a treat

close but bolted back up and just made another return , at a 45deg angle to 5inch down to 45deg over transforbox , and piped back into top of sump

ill have to fire it up 2moz and see if it works any better fingers crossed , heres a quick video of the old one when just reving to 3000rpm
