The peeps at the VOC centre don’t have anything to do with the four digit code required to set up VOC in the first instance. I found this out when I had an issue with mine and had to get a new code, from my supplying dealer.
The dealer puts your details into their system and it generates a code. This code is then used to link your VOC account to the car. Without that code, nothing will work (that’s my experience anyway).

If you have no pin, regardless of what you do with the 'On Call' button in the car (press it, lick it, stare at it, hurl abuse at it or just use massive text), the op will still not be able to progress with connecting their app to the car.

Thanks for the compliments 🙂! From what I understand and see the OP is trying to link his phone VOC app with the car, but needs PIN code. The PIN code to be generated he needs to contact either the dealer or VOC service center (via On call button or by phone) as it states in the owner's manual. You are trying to tell me, that without the PIN code he can NOT talk to anyone by pressing the On call button!? At my previous post you can see what the PIN code is needed for and I can not see where it states, that you need to have it beforehand if you want to talk to someone in VOC centre from the car!? How can you explain the bottom part of my previous post? It says: you can contact the roadside assistant if you have no subscription for VOC via On call button. How does it work? You know that VOC has a sim card installed from the factory and it is independent from anything else. I am still NOT convinced from your theory 🙂. |

Another thing the OP should check is to see if the buttons SOS and On call are not locked in the settings. This is useful if you have kids playing around with the buttons.
Also the calls can be made from the Sensus itself at the same place where are the settings for locking the buttons. |

From what the OP writes, I understand that VOC doen't work (press button: no response).
Normally, the dealer activates VOC. When we collected our car, the dealer didn't succeed activating VOC. Since we went on holiday a few days later, he printed the procedure for me. I seem to remember that there is indeed a PIN code required to activate VOC. After activation, pressing the button resulted in a conversation with a lady who guessed we were on holiday (she saw that the car was far away from out home location ) If that is the case, then (probably) the smartphone app won't work either.

The PIN code is needed to connect the VOC telephone app and not for activating the VOC service. The OP is saying that in the menu the VOC shows as active, which means he can call the centre. |

My car is leased and I set this up last week.
Call Volvo on *+44 1628 422522 and tell them you’ve got a new Volvo along with your registration, Volvo on Call username and they will send over the PIN. It’s easy to set up and Volvo UK were very helpful. |

Unfortunately for me mine turned up today and I've got the same problem.
I've got it on Lex Autolease however the lease company told me that they had gotten authority to activate the VOC. Looks like when you haven't activated the car set for the first time the On Call button does not activate. It likely needs activating through the Sim Card, same way that a new mobile phone does when you have to wait for the text to arrive, just they haven't actually sent the text until you contact them. Fingers crossed I'm going to try that phone number and see what I can do. |
