Default M56L or M56LK? Manual Box

Can anyone tell me what the difference is? I have the K version in my 2000 P2 T5.

Last week, I noticed a noise from the box on power in 3rd and 4th, it has steadily got worse over a couple of hundred miles and is now noticible in 2nd and 4th. I have been looking for second hand box and have found a couple that are the K version, what is this?

I guess that there wont be much difference if I go for a 4.00:1 rather that 4.25:1, couple of hundred revs at cruising speed!

Does anyone have any experience here?

Thanks
