If you want the widget, on android samsung phone, press and and hold an empty part of the screen and the menu will appear at the bottom select widgets and you will find it in there. Other phones may access widgets differently.

My wife remotely started our car yesterday morning and so when I got in to drive (with my own car key in my pocket), next to her already in the passenger seat (also with her key and her phone which she'd used to start the car remotely), all I had to do, I felt, was select 'Drive' and move off.

Not so! The car wouldn't let me do this. I had to switch the engine off and restart the car. Then I was able to move off.

How about that? I interpreted this to mean that no one can drive off in the car, even if the engine is running, unless they have the CORRECT car key on them.

Clever, eh?

Hey, Marc Tilling, if you are around, (or maybe some other knowledgeable person) can you please confirm this to be the case?

True, I found this, you have to restart the car in the normal way.

You don't need to switch it of!
All you need to do is press the brake and turn the knob as you normally start it 😉

Are you sure you had to stop the car? I think if you just put your foot on the brake and turned the starter everything would come to life. Essentially, you just treat the car as if it hadn't been remote started. I don't believe there is any connection between the key and the VoC account, that is, if your wife started the car from her phone, I don't think the car would have any way of associating that start with your wife's key.

Nope you just need to put foot on the brake and twist the start/stop knob then you're away. No need to switch off. Not tried but suppose if you don't press the brake the car will switch off?!

I agree with the two posts above, foot on the brake twist the start/stop knob to the start position and then select drive and away you go. On mine I get a message on the driver's display to tell me the car has been started remotely and what I need to do.

Re. not pressing the brake, I'm not sure about switching off, I think again it might simply behave as it would having not been remote started, i.e. switch on the ignition (clearly its not an ignition, but although i'm only in my early 40s, that's what i call it!). My car however has the slightly older design start switch, which you turn one way to start and the other to stop, I think the switch which turns the same way for both came on MY18 forwards.
