740 seat belt stalk substitute from other models?

Hi, I've finally managed to get the broken seat belt stalk out of the volvo. The belt won't click into it, so assumed that simply replacing it would be easiest option. But, maybe not!

It has a part number 35 25 094 9362 on it, and is 5 1/2 inches long, with a three core wire coming out the bottom with a 4 pin socket on the end.

I've had a couple of ebay, same year as my Volvo 740 G-reg. But they were too long, floor mounted I suspect.

My local dealer have been helpful, and offered to get three different ones in to make sure they get the right one. But they're quite expensive. Hoping someone will have one, somewhere.

Suggest you get in touch with CP Motors of Tamworth 01827 894983 and http://cpmotors-volvospares.co.uk/ - as I have been able to get all sorts of spares for my 1989 740 estate from them.

Is this a front seatbelt??

I will have a look on a 740 and a 940 i have in stock for breaking for you this weekend.

Hi, Yes it's a front belt stub. Drivers side, in case that makes a difference.

Hi Suffolk 009 looking through my garage at odd bits i find i have seat belt stalk that fits to drivers side seat frame,but alas it has different part numbers to yours,last sunday at a bkv meet i spoke to a guy with a g reg and he was telling me its murder trying to get parts as that car is right on the change over of models ie 740 old/740 new face lift..The seat belt stalk includeing belt fitment is 8inches,it fits to side of seat frame,on the press fit end it has a Volvo part no 1395408 and on the box it hasno 4840228belt catch ,the catch has a cable approx 30inches long with a 3/4pin fitment.it is brand new never used complete with fittings and instructions..Iam asking 20£+post and packing..regards sunnyvic VOC Disabled register

Hi, thanks thinking of me.

Sadly I already have one of the eight inch stalks. I'm afraid it is far too long. Think I'm going to have to bite the bullet and pay £50 with the Volvo dealership. It's annoying, but not as much as having the car just sitting there on the driveway.

The seat stalk belt catch should come aprox just over 1and ahalf inches above seat sqab this makes for easy fit in /out the remaining part of belt catch should be in line with base of seat sqab the remaining part of stalk goes down to seat frame where there should be a series of holes to fit the bolt to the frame,it might also be easier to remove the seat sqab ,their are two press studs under front and rear of seat frame.just trying to help.regards sunnyvic

This is what I'm looking for. Part No 35 25 094 9363. Have tried googling the number - nothing. Have tried ordering one from Volvo main dealer, they don't know what it is I'm talking about. Quite disheartening really.
