Default ignition key and brakes.....

Hi - 1970 144 auto - I've seemingly lost my (only) ignition key.....what to do?

Can these be supplied to fit existing barrel.....or new barrel/key or install a rocker switch/starter button affair somewhere!!

Any help appreciated....and I'm still looking for the key

Oh!! I was looking at classicswede.com and noticed S60/V70R front brake adapters (to fit calipers I assume??) I wonder if non R V70 Series 2 front brakes would fit....I have a complete for breaking V70 2004 and my 144 brakes are pants......

If key still missing (been down that road....) you could see if Steve in the parts dept at Braydon Motors (moved recently, but still in your area) can still get one, given the car's VIN number. He did that to my 164 years ago but his system didn't work for my other 164 last year....
Worth a call perhaps.

144 brakes should be very good. There are some more simple options to improve them.

Key Volvo dont have good records for the 140 but a good locksmith should be able to sort you out

Bleed them, in the correct order- it's in the Haynes manual I recall, if not get a proper 140 service manual and it will show you how. The 140/160 brakes were about the best on any car at the time and other than the lack of ABS are as good or better than a lot of modern cars.
