Fixed fault on dashboard
Hi All,
Just managed to fix a weird electrical problem. When I put the car in Reverse the Dash would go completely dead and there was a weird squealing from the passenger side. Located the CEM, and unplugged it all, found a couple of pins slightly green. Opened up the unit, got into the back, pulled out both PCBs in one go, found shorted pins on the back. Moisture can get in, shorts the Power PCB. Cleaned up, re-soldered a slightly burnt looking joint. Put it all back together and it all works fine!! No need for a new CEM or anything! P |

Thanks Clan, now you mention it I do remember something about this recall, I never got it done, will be getting it sorted soon to prevent a re-occurrence, symptoms seem to match.
Thanks Pete |
