Many years ago I worked at Speeds Volvo in Derby, and can remember a memo sent out to all dealerships warning of the use of a four post ramp used to compress springs before binding them with something.....😂 Needless to say when the spring was at full compression something went incredibly (if not predictably) wrong and the spring made a bid for freedom... After destroying the bear machine (old school emissions/diagnostic machine) it then exited the building via the roof, then bounce around between two customers cars on the forecourt. Many thousands of pounds of damage but luckily no one hurt. Do not underestimate the potential energy stored in a compressed spring. Even when only preloaded lightly in a built up machperson strut they stil have enough force to throw the top mount down the workshop if one was to impact gun the top nut off..

Ninja

Hence why I remain ( humbly ) pussseeeee boy !

I know that the front suspension on my 98 AWD R will need replacing at some stage, I have new Nivomats on the rear. I did start looking ( but in view of how much this gorgeous looking car has cost me to date ) but soon backed off.

Seemed to me that nobody is offering decent replacements, anybody any advice on where to go and what is in the market place gratefully received.
