1994 940 Estate Auto - 2.0 HPT GLE
So, here goes:
I'm looking to move the old girl on. She has done 112,000, full leather interior with usual GLE additions, heated seats, electric windows, electric sunroof. Registered metallic blue although it always looks more like green to me. It has about 2 months MOT and taxed to the end of the month. I serviced it in the summer and have replaced various parts always using genuine Volvo parts. Advisories last MOT were front brake hoses (did them) and front brake disks corroded (weren't done but I'm sure will need doing). It goes like a dream: really smooth 4 speed auto with the transmission lock when you go over 60mph and a powerful engine. It had four brand new Goodyear Blue Efficiency tyres in the summer and was professionally tracked all around (cost £400) and I've probably only done 2000 miles since - if that. The alloys are in excellent condition. The previous owner fitted a new turbo and whilst I don't have a receipt for the work, he did give me the knackered one as evidence. Now for the bad bit - the head gasket is leaking and is really the reason I can't keep it. I intended to get the job done over Easter and have many more years happy Volvo driving. However, I have lot's of other projects (including a 240) and really cannot afford to have yet another car off the road (this is the everyday driver). I will therefore be buying a cheap, cheerful new car which will be maintenance free allowing me to do the work on my other projects. I can't justify paying someone to do it for me but know to the right person, what will be a weekends work will make a really great car. I put some K-Seal ultimate in it which has kept it at bay but not solved the problem. It runs perfectly and hasn't yet got any oil contamination but it is still pressurising the cooling system. Since it went, I've done barely any mileage so to preserve it. It would be fine to drive it away which is why I'm selling it now still with a bit of T&T. I know you can get a days insurance on it for about £20 too. It is in generally very good condition, no rust or rot but the lacquer is peeling on one side of the bonnet. You can't actually see it unless you're close just because it's gone up to the line on the bonnet. Drivers seat is a bit tatty but all the others are great. Drivers door card a bit wrinkly. The dash lights have never worked whilst I've owned it but I've never investigated as it's not been a problem for me. It also has a CD player fitted by the previous owner. It also has a genuine Volvo dog guard. I think I've managed to get everything in. I'd love someone to take it on as a project as it's a fantastic car. What's it worth? I don't know but come and see it/make me an offer. My numbers 07894274234 and personal email meakin_29@hotmail.com for any who can't reply on here. I have loads of pictures but it won't let me upload any. Contact me and I'll email pictures. Thanks |
