Volvo 940 SE 2.3 LPT Auto Estate 1997
Gents,
I'm sadly parting with my old Volvo. Served me well over the last 7/8 years but now has some issues, although has a MOT to Feb 2016. I sold it on Ebay but the buyer didn't show up or pay. Hopefully the link to Ebay will work to save me typing it all out again..... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1616128909...997%26_rdc%3D1 I don't really want to drive her up the scrap yard so if anyone is interested let me know. Happy with around the £200 mark ONO. Paul |

Hi
Do you know what make of gearbox it has fitted ? I have a gearbox but it's a ZF and I think you one is different. My Mum still lives in Camberley and I had an idea but it would involve storing it at her house for a while, not sure if it is something I would get away with ! |

Hi, 'subtel', you know your own mind, but that looks a nice example and are the advisories really that bad?
Corrosion - that has been an advisory on my 740 for some years now. My garage says it is superficial and nothing to worry about, but that the testing station is 'covering it's back'. Steering rack gaiter deteriorated and rear brake pads low - normal wear and tear and relatively quick fixes. Oil leak - again, I've had this advisory for several years now. Not serious, and I just keep an eye on the oil level and replenish when necessary. If your leak is from the auto-box, it may explain that issue as well. Wear in steering rack - again, not unusual at that mileage and not bad enough to fail. Had you noticed any problems before the MOT? I would continue to use the car but monitor the condition closely and replace with a good second-hand or recon rack when the time comes. I too would be reluctant to scrap a car that I know, trust and enjoy using for these reasons alone. Would it's replacement be any better - or would it bring other unknown problems? I would continue to enjoy the car and make good as and when necessary - and save myself the frustration of 'no shows' on 'ebay'. Regards, John.

just seen it closed at £166.00 - that's such a little price for a good car.
Hope the winning bidder doesn't muck you around.
