Gotta say Rich I am and remain somewhat suspicious. It is a cracking looking Saffron in a similar condition to one Acidic Dave flogged at the tail end of last year. Being Dave ( and not of Dana ilk ) he openly stated that the clutch was on its last legs. Think it went for around £1800.
Factor in the alleged recent work on the one for sale now and the figures are not ball parks apart. Big question for me would be having spent all those $ why would you sell ? Requires a very convincing answer which nay or may not be forthcoming ! |

The Gul saloon didn't sell via Copart and has now been relisted...
https://www.copart.co.uk/lot/27365588 I suspect the reserve may be 'optimistic' given his eBay adverts etc |

I bought a 97 V70R off Dana last year - paid £1300 for it delivered. Apart from a few niggles, it's been good and tbf I'm very happy with it. I had no idea of his general reputation though, must admit..

sounds like you are one of the (very) lucky ones. Sides has told us that Dana also had the saffron R currently on the bay from which I conclude he does on occasions come into possession of entirely straight motas. It is the less than entirely straight ones you have to worry about i.e what will he bodge to get a sale = anything. He told me approx 18 months ago I would not find an 850 or P1 R in reasonable order for less than £4K. If not immediately obvious, the bottom line is you cannot trust a word he says. Period. |

Pleased to read you are happy, that is what life is supposed to be. If you have had her for say 9 months, paid £1300 and Dana slid her down the M6 for you that is a good buy. I Posted a day or 2 ago on another thread, neighbour just paid £3200 for an MOT, service, replacement DPF and " we looked at the turbo ". Insignia, 4 years old 44k on the clock. Now that is what I called being proper ripped off. |
