Hi all...happy days ...straight pass...not bad for what is now a twelve year old car ?
When you hear stories of people with four or five year old cars with an mot cost of 800 ?

Good point but as garage pointed out...low miles/use age can also be a bad thing...unless car is kept inside.
Especially brake system and exhaust.
They assumed the low mileage was due it being used as a summer car....but actually I use it every day for work.
Just that I am fortunate to work 3 miles from my house.
So each week I make sure I give it a good run down the dual carriageway to keep the pcv system reasonably content.!!

Cheers mate ! I do feel relieved....as I've been unable to work for last month due to slipped disc....and really was hoping for a cheap mot....and I gotta say she didn't let me down...just a 45 pound fee !

Likewise...I too have issues with my lower back which is probably due to leaning over engines from a young age. You have my sympathy!

Our 19 year old V70 flew through its NCT recently...the tester was mad about it

I guess that's this crazy predictive text...did you mean mot ?
Nearly always I have to edit a posting myself!
I do believe the 850 platform/s v or c70 series were well engineered cars...sure they have known weaknesses. But what make doesn't ? This generation of volvo is in my opinion the last of a good breed.
I wouldn't particularly look twice at a phase 2 c70...the Ford based one...for example?
Good job they're on another page haha otherwise they'd be arguing with me...but seriously the 850 Base was an awesome and robust bit of kit ?
