Milk float in Penwortham, Preston
Most mornings I see a white 240 estate being used as a milk float in Penwortham near Preston. The rear windows are constantly wound down to allow easy access to the milk.

Very tidy black SE estate with Torslander wheels at Hyde Park Corner in London yesterday. Driven impeccably through the madness of London and showing up the vulgar two-a-penny Mercs, Audis and BMs. Surely none will age so gracefully as the 240?

Tuesday 15th watched a gorgeous D reg DL in a browny burgundy type colour board the Red Funnel ferry out of my home town of east cowes IOW... very nice it was too, a lone elder gentleman sat proudly at the wheel!
Drove my own 240 to Northampton and back yesterday 300 mile round trip and didnt see one 240 in any guise! She returned a combined 34.8 mpg over that trip which is a pleasing increase on the 28mpg I achieve pottering around the island. |

I think I may have seen this one near Norwich on the All yesterday morning, it was blue with a roof box, and a K reg with only 2 numbers, and PLN looks familier.

MY 240 DRIVES ME!
|
Driving home from work today.(slowly after my core breach caliper scare)..saw a yellow 240 estate dragged out of the woods and up onto a trailer..(mud trail on road)..Missed all the relevant info..reg..spec..etc..absolutely rusted to hell and smothered in leaf mulch..Looked like they had to break the side window to gain access to the car..I almost stopped as i could hear the chaps say something as i passed...I waved and carried on...all a bit sad really..cheers hj...( i should have stopped)..Its been there all these years and i did not even know..hj.
