My V90 1997 requires a replacement drive cog as mine has a few worn or broken teeth on the inner track. Does anyone have such a thing or perhaps a full seat with electric controls and computer? My seat is grey leather with two patches of velour. Please let me know what you have and your price etc. If you prefer you could send me a PM. Derek Vivian

Which cog do you require?

I have the seat base from a power seat from a '90 760. Don't know if they're the same as V90, but it may be worth a look

Hi Derek,

Can you post a photo on here of the part you need? Or at least send one via e-mail?

Best regards, Kevin

Hi Kevin,
I am collecting my car from the garage today and will ask if a photo is available which is sometimes what the mechanic does to show me what is wrong! I'll be in touch. Thanks Derek Vivian

Hi Kevin/RWDKEV
I have my car back now and it seems the best option is to find a replacement seat. I suppose it doesn't have to be an exact match colour wise for DMW said they could remove tracks from the replacement to swap for mine thereby ensuring full movement. Anyway, there is no rush so as and when you (or any other forum post reader!) come across a spare seat let me know please. Many thanks. Derek Vivian

Really? Or is this just what your Volvo "specialist" are telling you....?

Is this no longer the case then...? I agree with Dave's line of thinking in post #16 of the thread below - investigate if it's feasible to replace just the drive gear or at worse, the gear housing assembly....

If they're prepared to strip down the seat to do that then they'll have good access to all the drive parts and be able to replace the gear housing anyway.....

Derek, you timing is impeccable. This weekend I'm having a tidy-up in one of my many parts stores and I've got to move the half dozen 940/960/90 front seats that I have - some of which I think are powered and also RH/driver's.

You can have as much or as little as you want, assuming it works, so I'll check operation first.

Hi Kevin,

Although no rush for the car's back home now, but I would like to know what you might have available to offer me. I am not wanting to spend too much now until after 31 March when my next pension payment arrives! It is fun being retired!! Look forward to hearing from you as and when. Derek P.S Feel free to email me if easier for you. Thanks

I've found a power RH/drivers in grey. It's from a 940 so is mechanically identical but it's in "standard" leather as opposed to the type with the Alcantara insert panels like yours. The gear housings are only held in with a few bolts so are easy to remove.....However, I haven't had a chance to power it up yet.

It'll be a lot quicker (and thus cheaper) to replace a gear housing rather than changing both tracks....
