CPS will virtually always accept a guilty plea on a lesser offence. It's good for their statistics, as well as cost saving.
Even on assault cases . I charged a chap with a Sec 18 GBH (with intent) . In crown court defence offered to CPS that their client would plead to a SEC 20 GBH ( no intent ). Of course he would, he'd go down for an '18' without doubt.
How you hit someone with a crow bar breaking his jaw and knocking two teeth out without intent to harm I'll never know, lol. CPS took it though. The aggrieved was 'gutted' and told me "you police are useless" afterwards.......

As mentioned above CPS actually moved into police stations , it was around 04' IIRC.. Then the charge responsibility was taken away from the Custody Sgt and passed direct to the CPS person in the nick.
The number of people charged dropped dramatically.
Sorry if I've gone off topic, will get off me soap box now and go for a cuppa

If you see a foreign lorry parked on a motorway hard shoulder there is a good chance that about 1/4 mile back there will be a damaged car on the hard shoulder probably facing the wrong way.

As others have said being in the drivers blind spot, next to the cab, is a very dangerous place to be. Accelerate past the front of the lorry so the driver can see where you are through the windscreen. If you can't do that drop back so tbe driver can see you in his mirrors.

Above all be aware, read the road and plan ahead.

Be safe out there.
