It’s a common misconception that a DPF regeneration will fix problems - it usually doesn’t.

The regeneration process is a maintenance feature, rather than repair. If it has become so blocked that it’s in limp mode as a result - even if a regen takes it out of limp mode it is usually only temporary. The DPF needs to come off to be professionally cleaned or replaced. At this stage regens and fuel additives are most unlikely to fix it.

You also really want to find out why it has got to that stage, unless your just doing short journeys all the time its likely something is wrong.

All good.... forte dpf cleaner in 1/4 tank and 3k 30 minute drive cleared it... no engine codes and back to full power.... wife only does short runs so will be a regular thing no doubt... may get full ecu tune so dpf core may be dealt with at same time to realise more mpg.

Good news, it sort of indicates that the car is sound, but keep in mind it might have taken 3 - 5 years of short journeys to clog the DPF, might might have just unwound the last 4 weeks of that, time will tell.

If it reoccurs, getting the DPF removed and professionally cleaned is a cheaper and long term alternative to a new one.

Should be 0w30 A5/B5 oil not C2 and don't fill to the top mark on the dipstick, keep it around the 3/4 mark

I used C2 as many sites now suggest its defacto C type if your car has a dpf,,, others on here suggest 5w30 too,,,,, http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/car-new...oil-for-my-car
