Default Cambelt clarification

Hi All,

Can I just clarify when a cambelt is due on a MY 2016 V70 D4?

My car had it's 5yr service late last year but as it was on a service plan I dont seem to get any details. The digital service booking on the volvo site implies that the cambelt is due at 5yrs or 90,000 miles. Mine how ever has only done 50,000.

Many Thanks

It's whatever comes first. If it is 5 years (which seems unusal as the older 5 cyl D5 engine was 10 years or 108k) It needs doing or shouldve been done.

Thanks, that's what I would have thought... but just spoke to the dealer and to be fair they have sent me a copy of the invoices.

It definitely hasn't had a cambelt and oddly they say that it's 9yrs or 90k miles.... no idea where the 9 yrs comes from but I guess I 'm safe for a few years.

Funny how the service indicator says cambelt and aux belt at 5 years ? the five year service cost of nearly £900 would also confirm that. Based on 18k service intervals 90k and 5 years would be right
