Default Starting a new On Call subscription with a Used Car

I'm about to buy a used XC60 from an independent (non-Volvo) dealer this weekend which has On Call. This isn't something I've discussed with the salesperson, so I'm not sure what the process is.

From looking at the documentation for On Call, I see:

Quote:
Starting the Volvo On Call service
Buying a used car with Volvo On Call:
The new owner contacts their Volvo retailer, who
transfers the time remaining on the subscription
to the new owner. It is important that the contact
details are updated for Volvo On Call to work and
that the previous owner does not have access to
Volvo On Call services in the car. The new owner
is given a personal four-digit PIN code, which is
required to identify themselves as the owner (or
another authorised person) and gain access to
certain services.
So what do I need to do in order to start this service after I pick the car up? Call a Volvo showroom and give them the VIN number of the car and let them sort it out?

I think you will have to get your appointed dealership to help with setting up VOC as it can be bit of a involved process. Usually it involves resetting the car to factory pre-sets and erasing the previous owners VOC details, which may be difficult if the last owner has not already done so as you need their pin number. The dealer will be able to access all this information and will be able to transfer any remaining VOC subscription to your account.

A few things you can do before getting your new car is set up a Volvo ID and download the VOC app to your phone, just saves a bit of time at the dealership as this is part of the set-up procedure.

MY Volvo is a good source for everything to do with your car.

Thanks for that. I don't have an appointed dealership as such. I guess I will have to choose one locally and ask there.

I'll take a look at creating an Id and see where that takes me. I'll also need to see what the state of play is with the car (and it's idea of the Id) at the weekend.
