Contact the Moderators and ask politely if they will allow you to send Personal Messages (PM's), then contact cheshired5 (Simon) a long standing & extremely helpful Member here who sells the Volvo Vida interface including fully set up laptop if required. It will be the best money you have spent for a long time!

I have a Dec 2014 ( 2015MY) V70 and vida 2014D works on my car no issue. Don't know about 2016MY but as per Reggit I don't think it works on later models.

Cheers
Bob

Volvo is still using VIDA software. For new models and all cars after 2015 they created new VIDA system which can be used by main dealers and approved garages. It’s not free to use. I work at Volvo Specialist in Brighouse and we can use this new system to read codes, install softwares etc.

You'll have to go to a dealership or a garage that has the capabilities of reading codes on newer models. A generic reader won't work.
