My apologies too......

.....on reflection I realise this is a Volvo site, about cars, engines, bhp, grease and swarfega. I am not sure it's about SWMBO's nail polish for £25

Yes, these are enlightened times and the Swedish Volvo driver is very much the modern man but...

I am amazed nobody on the forum signalled that a line in the sand had been crossed!

My next post will be about drop-links or how to replace a pair of suspension strut mounts, promise.

Arianne.
How wrong you are - this forum site is a male version the female Twitter where we males can hang out and have a banter about life with the common theme that we are all Volvo 60 series owners built within the last 5 years which by default puts us in a different group from say the "XC90" threads whose cars a have a much higher average age - hence need more TLC - hence are talking about big end bearings & droplinks............

Will be interesting to see how this community develops over the next 5 years as our cars age & how many of the current members move over in 2016/17 to a new grouping for the next MY17 Xc60 shape..........which one of us will be the 1st member??

Not me. Once my MY16 XC60 FINALLY shows up, I won't be able to afford to replace it for at least 3 years. Plus, if the XC90 is anything to go buy, the price premium will be nuts!

Agree. I suspect the new XC60 will be priced (sorry, marketed) head-on into Q5 and X3 territory. The existing XC60 is, I suppose, also in Q5 and X3 land, but where these (and also Land Rover) get 'silly' is when you start plundering the options list. You can spend a fortune adding bells and whistles. My new XC60 will have a lot (most !) of these, but the price is still sensible (for me). Even the standard SE Lux is well-equipped compared to the equivalent standard Q5 and X3. I expect for the first few years of the new XC60 the dealer discounts will be a small single figure rather than into the high teens (and we will also return to long factory order times).

Car went really well, drove all the way back without a stop, wife had her heated seat on and the comfy seat made that possible, but where does the time go?
I drive from Derbyshire to Hemel two or three times a week. I love the seats, the low down pull, the gadgets and stuff, I dont really like the fuel consumption, as my average over the last 8000 miles is less than 41mpg..... and that is mainly motorway mileage and a little cross country / town driving.

It is the 2.4D 5 cylinder and awd which wont help but ultimately its the shape that is the issue on the motorway, it is much more economical at 50 than 70.....

its a company car and job goes soon so will have to think about how I replace it!
