Default Heated Seat Fault- Free Advice and Diagnosis

Having successfully diagnosed and fixed my heated seat fault and in the sharing spirit of this great forum, I'd just like to throw it out there that if anyone wants a trip to Crewe in Cheshire, I will gladly give an hour of my time (realistically takes 30 mins) free of charge to help you diagnose where your fault lies and give you pointers as to how to sort your own issue.
In most cases, the fix costs you less than £30 to do yourself, dependant on how well equipped your tool box already is.

How about throwing it on the forum it would be a tad expensive if you lived in Scotland

Yep, quite right Mike and I will do when I get time.
I've only got limited pics though, as I was doing the fix on my own, so the write up already is looking quite long in order to explain in more detail and fill in the blanks.
I suppose the steps I used could be summarised as follows.
Voltage check the heater control module.
If that's ok, resistance test the the two sets of seat pad wires.
If either is greater than 1.5 ohms you've found your faulty pad.
None of that really helps though, if you're a novice and of course there's a bit more to it than that.
We could use this thread as the starting point and maybe other members around the country could offer their fault finding services here and we can fill in the geographical gaps.
I'm not in the same league as many for technical knowledge, so I'm sure I won't be the only one who can offer help.

Pinout of the plugs would help a lot already (Laptop with VIDA is broken again).

Mine has a left-heated-seat malfunction. Under the seat is a hefty (~25A) plug with no leads going out of it. But I cannot find anything that it might once have slotted into, so I guess that is the plug for the electrical adjustment (which I don't have) and should be disregarded.

The rest of the wires are thin things going into a small box. Trying to read up on this I checked the 15A fuse (looks fine) and read that the resistance is 1ohm (back) and 1.5ohm (seat). Also supposedly it is PWM (blockwave switching on and off, common method of varying heat or also e.g. the brightness of a modern LED-torch). Which would explain the discrepancy of two resistances drawing (14.4V/1ohm + 14.4/1.5ohm=) 24A being fused with just 15A... Or are they in series???
