Default Top Speed Event

I've received an e-mail from Chris Mann who is organiser of the Ten of the Best Championship about a Top Speed Event:

Top Speed day @ Elvington 24th September-open to all

I've been asked to pass on details of a top speed records day at Elvington on the 24th september, to anyone who may be interested. Run by Straightliners, using the full main tarmac runway on the airfield. Top speed attempts only, for cars and bikes, with a full timing trap and spectator viewing area.
Cost to race is £50 per car payable on the day, spectating is usually £7 or so on gate at these, will have to check on actual spectating costs tomorrow for anyone who needs info.

It's much cheaper on the Autobahn

However, getting there costs a little more than £50

Ju, lol. I passed my test in Germany and had a left-hand drive car for a couple of years - apparantly there are now more speed restrictions on some autobahns in Germany.

You bet there are.
And especially at night on sections near towns to reduce the road noise..
The limit drops nearing interchanges to 120kph or even 100kph or 80kph.

This experience from driving to and around Bavaria..

They are getting wise to it in germany i think, we had to be careful when we went to the Ring this year, Belgium is even worse, if you get caught over 120mph they are likely to confiscate your motor!!!

How longs the track at elvington??
