Default 59 XC60 CV joint - help!

Afternoon,

I have a clicking CV joint on my FWD 2.4D Drive.

I’m finding it impossible to find the outer CV joint, local motor factors don’t stock it, many online retailers can’t find it, and dealer will only sell me the whole shaft.

Any hints where to buy them? Is this a particularly unusual model?

Thanks!

I contacted Febest and they said they don’t make one.

Is this definitely correct?

Many thanks.

Interesting I contacted "Parts in Motion (part of the AMF Group)" on ebay, since they were listed front drive shafts for the XC60 D5, they confirmed once they had my VIN that they only sell drive shafts (£175) for manual XC60 not for automatic and said they were unaware of anyone making them other than the genuine Volvo part. Looking expensive, best offer I have so far is £600 fitted from an independent using genuine part or £650 from a Volvo dealer.

There's quite a lot of people selling rear drive shafts and cv joints but no one seems to do the front (assume the rear is a Ford part from Kuga and LF Freelander, but front is possibly unique to the XC60 due to the 5 cylinder engine?)

Correct the rear shafts are shared with the AWD versions of the Ford Kuga, V70, XC70 and S80.

I would look at a Ford Kuga CV joint to see if they are physically the same?

On AWD cars the O/S shaft at least will be different from the 2WD models, though I would expect the outer CV to be the same. Another route may be getting a second hand one and using the CV from that.

Default XC60 CV Joint

Hi my XC60 2.4 D Drive SE manual transmission has worn CV joints on front axle both sides.

garage have had trouble ordering parts as the ones that have come are wrong - 27 teeth, then 29 teeth, etc.

Anyhow they couldn't have my car on ramp for too long whole other parts came so reassembled greased and I picked it up - all fine.

I want to get them done but I'm also having trouble locating correct parts using internet sites. The issue seems top be my car reg 59 - but as so close to new year it seems like it has 10 parts - hence the issue.

CV joint has 28 teeth and 8 bearings.

I've also been asked for this info when trying to locate CV joints...

Chassis No.089301
Engine type. D5244T14
Transmission type. M66

Anyone know the OEM numbers for CV joints F/L and F?R for my car?

Be a great help as ordering parts and getting help during Covid-19 is very difficult indeed,

Also money at a premium due to lockdown and I'm no car expert or particularly mechanically minded - but given parts numbers and guidance should be fine.

Thanks for reading my first post and thanks in advance for any info and support,

S
