Default steering vibration advice

Hi guys. I have a vibration on my s60 at all speeds. The faster I go the worse it gets. I've had the wheels balanced swapped from back to front with no success. The car is vibrating when braking so assuming the brakes are toast as its just had a new caliper as the drivers side brake smelled of burnt rubber. I've replaced all of the mounts and polybushed the subframe to no avail. Any suggestions would be much sprciated

Thanks Marc

usually vibrations from driveshafts will cease when foot is off gas. I'm thinking either tie-rods (inner and/or outer) or lower control arm bushings.
Note: a stuck caliper will also cause vibrations and lots of heat! both front wheels should feel equally warm. If one is hotter than the bejesus, well either wheel bearing is out or brakes are faulty.

Had the same with my S60, it was a sticking front caliper stripped it nothing seized, the brake pipes can break down internally and cause the caliper to stay on slightly, swapped that and it was cured, goodluck in fixing it, got the steering wobble to investigate on my new V70

My Xc70 did this when I bought it.
The front bushes on the wishbone had been installed backwards.
In fairness they kind of look like they should go in that way.
To check them just take a look at the steel rod through the bush centre.
The narrow side should be towards the sub frame and the wide side towards the tyre.
It can be tracked when it's like this but it throws the steering geometry way out.
Car will need to be tracked after you turn them around.

Just had something similar, driving up the motorway today in my S60 and noticed that there was a new judder/vibration. I’ve been struggling with a small one at around 70mph. Wheels balanced, then new tyres including replacement second hand wheels (one was buckled I found) has made no difference. This was massively worse. Got to work and there was smoke coming from the near side passenger wheel. Having a new calliper, discs and pads tomorrow. Hopefully this might cure the problem. Is there anything else it could be?

To add to the knowledge bank, new calliper, discs and pads has cured mine, if not fixed my bank balance.

Its had a new caliper however the brake is still warm not less so than the passenger side. When you say the piped do you mean the brake pipes or the flexi hose ?

I've replaced the passenger side driveshafts feels a bit heavy when steering now so slight improvement. I'm hoping it's the drivers side at fault as my mechanic has spotted play in driveshaft. If not I'll replace the tie rods etc. Do you know if the steering rack is troublesome on the s60?
