General: - Intermittent rough idle

Hi All

My 2.4 non turbo petrol 1999 Volvo has been faultless so far. Its got 167,000 miles on the clock. Due to the pandemic, I've only filled up the tank once in the last four months, though I have used the car for short runs.

Today, I took it for a long run and it started to idle really roughly, though it was intermittent. As soon as I put my foot on the throttle, it was just fine.

There are no warning lights on the dash.

Not sure of the cause; any thoughts? I've never cleaned the ETM, but did replace the plugs 6,000 miles ago.

change fuel filter? cheap and quick (providing the retaining bolt can undo LOL)
