Default V90 mirror angles..

After a year of ownership I’ve just noticed the passenger mirror (body - not the glass) is angled towards the car more than the drivers side.

The reason for this is obvious, just surprised I’ve only just noticed it!
I wonder if all the SPA cars are the same??

On my V60 68 deg offside 56 deg nearside. Well spotted, I hadn't noticed

Happened to have a protractor handy. Took 2 minutes. But yes I did. Accuracy plus or minus a few degrees.
That's an engineering brain.

In that you don’t sit in the middle of the car - so the one closest to you has to be ‘wider’ to give you the same field of vision as a mirror further from you.

Presumably this means LHD / RHD cars have specific mirror bodies. You'd have thought they'd just design them to allow the glass enough movement to suit either.

I think there’s just a physical stop within the N/S mirror housing as the motor runs on a bit once it’s stopped.
