Default 940 ECC sick

I'm having some problems with the ECC in my 940.
I've tried putting it into self diagnostic to read the codes but this doesn't seem to work. No signs of life from the AC button light

What works:
-Fan speed control
-Recirc button light comes on
-Temperature control seems to work buy not that hot

What doesn't work.
-Vent selection stopped working. Just seems to go to window and floor level (but I think this is the state the springs bring the baffles to). It made one brief spurt to vent last week but then stopped
-AC light doesn't work.

Any pointers on how to proceed?

Thanks

J

Remove the underdash trim on the passenger side followed by the glovebox. You'll see something like this :

Locate this little pain in the neck :

Remove it and strip it down so you can see the PCB :

Using a solder-sucker, add some fresh solder so the solder flows again then remove all the solder. Resolder with fresh 60/40 tin/lead solder, once cool use IPA and a stiff toothbrush or soft brass brush to clean the residue. Repeat for each dry joint on the edge connectors similar to that shown in the second PCB pic above.

Plug back in, fire the engine up and test. It should all be working now. If so, "Haynes it". (Put it all back how you found it )

Double check the bulb for the A/C button actually works, if not remove the control box, lift the lid and renew the bulbs including the illlumination bulbs. Test, refit, enjoy!
