Taken last night during a quick run to see if the flushing the rad had helped it run any cooler. Taken on my phone, so excuse the quality. |

Great to see pictures of an Amazon in southern Sweden again. Especially in the sunshine. My lucky wife is in Stokholm at the moment. Not that I'm jealous.

We finally got the front and rear screens sorted, and the trims back in – National Windscreens here in Bath did it, and just charged us the 'normal' price, despite spending a total of three days on them! Unfortunately, the front screen cracked (an old, quite scratched laminated one), so we had to shell out for a new one. However, after sorting some other minor leaks with Captain Tolley's / Arbo, thanks to the on/off good weather, he's watertight at last (crosses fingers)... this is Sven after I'd spent hours sorting the leaks, giving him a good shampoo, rinse & wax, and making the saggy windlace look presentable! Tomorrow I've got to take a smidge of Tolley's overun off the paint, and get the trims cleaned and polished with Autosol...

Looking very smart. Don't go mad with the Autosol. The trims are anodised and aren't meant to be polished. Clean carefully and then wax. Good luck with removing the Tolley's, it almost bonds to the paint!

Thanks for the advice, Derek! The Tolley's overspill came off with a very small amount of white spirit, which was then followed by a non-soap baby wipe. The trims cleaned up a treat with just a small amount of Autosol, and I even managed to get some old black tarnish off them, where the alignment between them has changed when the rubbers were replaced. Think we're about set for the winter, just need to wax the chrome & trims, and also try to re-seal a leaky headlamp, which fogs a little in heavy rain... BTW, the biggest 'design fault' I've found with the Amazon is that if you open the boot after it's been raining, water just funnels into it off the lid!

Sven did wedding car duty for some friends the other Saturday, I particularly like this 'I've gotta stop and have a ciggie' moment that the bride had on the way to the reception!
'Just married'! |
