Default Door mirror

I have been trying to find a near-side door mirror glass for my 2006 V50 2.0D SE, can anyone give me a steer as to what model year range will fit my car.

2004-2006 fit ones seem as rare as rocking horse droppings.

I've seen one advertised as for 07 - 09 here

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VOLVO-S40-...item3f0964e84c

looks like a good price, will it fit my 2006 ?

My experience of an eBay jobbie was that it did fit after a fashion. The terminals for the heating element were in slightly the wrong place so I had to cut the frame. Also it didn't stick to the frame as well as the original. The glass was the right size though. I give it 7/10 compares with an original Volvo one

Thanks for your reply - as I understand it from the description, this is already attached to the carrier and should just clip in. Not sure though if there is a difference in mirror size/shape between 2006 and 2007 model years ?

The pic of mine showed it attached to the carrier too. If you do order one I would be interested to know how it goes as I may order another.

Ebay mirror glass arrived today - fitted in about 5 minutes and was a direct replacement for my broken one.

In fact it appeared identical, even down to the part number stamped on the back, to the one that I took off so not sure if the mirror has been replaced previously with a pattern part or if I've bought a genuine mirror for a tenner.

Either way I'm very happy with it. I've tried to link to pictures of the part but not sure if it will work.

Just giving this alittle bump to keep it on the first page in the hope that Falmouthboy will see it.

He had bought a replacement mirror and was less than happy with it, the one I bought on ebay seems like genuine OEM quality. The ebay seller

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VOLVO-S40-...item3f0964e84c

has just reduced the price by £2 so now £7.99.

I tried to send a PM to Falmouthboy to update him but as I have less than 30 posts not allowed to PM - maybe someone reading this will be kind enough to drop him a PM.
