Default cd changer

Hi there. I would guess this has been covered but has any one had a problem with the 6 disc changer refusing to play or load discs. My one has just done this today. I’m not getting any error messages it just won’t play load discs. Any one got any ideas?? And also would I be able to just replace it with another one?

Are you using burned CDs? If so the pre-face lift model (2004-2007) cd changer does not support .mp3 files so make sure all music is burnt in CD audio format.

You can try a little bit of a thump to see if it jolts it back into life and you can also press and hold the eject button for 4 or 5 seconds and this should eject ALL CD's as opposed to just the single CD when you press it for just 1 to 2 seconds.

Other than this there is not a lot more can be done, you CANT simply just exchange for another from a dismantler/scrappy as the radio's are coded to each car. Volvo will not recode them for you either. They will however sell you a new for for a good £500.

If all fails then the best course of action is to get in touch with a member/trader on here called Marcel (just search). Marcel repairs all Volvo's radio and SATNAVs and if you inform him your a forum member this should attract a bit of discount too.

Okay I've done the leg work, here is a link to Marcels details: LINKY!

Just in case some random freak event has caused your already loaded cds to become unreadable have you tried a new one/one that isn't a cdr?
