Flashing brake lights...
Does anyone know where can I activate my brake lights, to flashing brake lights? I have seen them in performance cars, and I think in the Volvo S80?
Really interested to activate this in my car. I even found a U.K website which supplies/sells these kits for all cars, for not much. http://www.flashingbrakelights.co.uk/ |

That is standard from 2008 onwards. Called EBL. Older Volvos can't have it simply "recoded" as the newer cars have different brake modules with G sensors (depending on how hard you brake, the lights flash and then the hazard lights turn on when basically stopped).
If you have a prefacelift, you will have to have someone install some aftermarket thing...

the MOT testers manual states a reason for failure " The stop light shows other than a steady red light to the rear when any service brake is applied, or remains on when the service brake is released

Yep and the best £85 spent they flash between 3and 5 times then solidly on a firm push but nail it and its like Blackpool illuminations with the flashing but normal breaking solid lights only.

What would plod make of all your brake lights flashing though I wonder?
Personally I'd prefer the third brake light only to blink as it's more in the line of vision usually. |

I have a pre facelift V50 and I'm under the impression the hazard lights come on automatically when heavy braking. I'll have to check the manual...
I know Thats slightly off topic... |
