I will have a read on that link, cheers..
It may be possible to fit one but that could mean modifying the mountings and depends how much effort you want to put into the upgrade.

Would I need to remove fog lights, remove some parts of the front bumper, and grill?

Sorry just seen this Q on a re-read.

The intercoolers are pretty expensive really, You can get a 2nd hand RS Mk2 intercooler for about £10 to £20 but of course these do not fit due to the crash construction of the Volvo over the Ford.

The other mainstream ones are many hundreds of pounds fron I think it was about £400 to £900, the Elevate one looks really nice but many people go on about how good the Bell ones are (T5Monkey has one fitted, involves cutting). They are pretty scarce 2nd hand too (gold dust).

I'm going to opt to getting the Shark Performance one probaly some time mid to late summer when funds allow.

Zeb, I think you'll find that the one on the ST is no different to the one you have curently got on your car. Therefore you would be gaining nothing.

You need an uprated one such as the one fitted to the RS but of course the RS one doesn't fit the Volvo structure. This then means you have to either have one custom made or buy one from one of the companies that have already done all the R&D to ensure they supply a better intercooler that is just plug and play!

Do watch though as the likes of the Bell needs to have tome interior bumper work dremeled away.

The answer to your question is Yes, yes youy do have need to take the bumper off but you do not need to take fog lights out (just disconnect them) to ensure you have room to remove and fit a new intercooler with associated pipe work. If by your other post I've read on Matts Remap thread then you would be best getting some advice from the boys at Shark when you inquire about a remap, two birds with one stone? It would be far more worthwhile ensuring you upgrade things like the exhaust, down pipe, intake pipe, cat (or decat) or the intercooler prior to a remap as opposed to just after it. This way the map can be adjusted to suit the parts you've upgraded and not end up geting a map with all your stock parts if you have the intention of upgrading straight after a remap. Otherwise you'll need a new remap to adjust things to suit your modifications.

I hope you follow?

HTH,

Our intercooler doesn't require any alterations (drilling/cutting) for installation. We think this is very important in an aftermarket product.
