Default MOT passed

So as the title implies, the old girl (well not that old) passed her MOT today!

56,000k on the clock.

The bearing was replaced but that was the reason she went in.

Does anyone know of upgrading the bearings to ones that can take the toils of potholed roads?

My last bearing went last year and this one this year. I've only had the car since March 2011, I am presuming that the bearings have not been changed since 2005? So that's only 6 years of service - does that seem a short time, considering 56K on the clock?

Something of note I discussed was the bushes. He said there was some play in them but they were fine and not shredded or disfigured.

Getting some new drop links fitted (after Thantos's recommendation).

p.s. I have HID converted her and had the EGR mapped out.

You'll be needed some Polybushes before next year then? One of the best modifications you can do, tightens the car up without making it stiff and unpleasant to drive.

The bearings supposedly fail due to water ingress, Volvo modified the part so if you had a new genuine part fitted it should last a lot longer now. If you had a cheap nasty part fitted, you can probably expect to replace it again within a couple of years...

This is just a general note, but everyone goes on about buying genuine parts but you don't know what your getting, just been to Volvo to pick up a rear tailgate spoiler and looking through into the back was a pile of eurocar part bags???????????? interesting
