Thanks for the comments and support.
Yes, it has certainly been a very trying time for my Wife & myself.

However, what good has come out of this is since Chris the Manager came on board in sorting out the problems he has been on the phone to me daily (inc today Sat).
I also received a lengthy letter from him this morning with his business card inc email and a direct line telephone number.
So from this point on if there are any further issues I am to ring direct.... which is now making the ownership a lot better.

However, as you say the problems did taint the relationship between the dealer & ourselves and it will always play on our minds.
But as my good lady keeps on telling me, forget their Motability side Mike, if we have a question go straight to Chris.

If anyone is interested in what we did order it is:-

Hi
Have you guys noticed the motability have added the new D5 on their website and the D5 SE PRENIUM now comes with £5299 deposit which is cheaper than the cheaper D5s?

Yes, see post 5 on this topic.
The D5 was introduced early in January after I complained to Motability that they were only listing the D3 SE Lux Premium.
After they spoke with both Volvo & the Insurers the D5 was then added.

In April the price for the D5's shot up by quite a large margin.

Ahh.. yes, they are now listing both the 205 & 215bhp D5 models.
Strange as new orders now should only be the 215 variants.

Good to hear youve got the car you want Mike and hope you thoroughly enjoy.Well deserved.

Nice spec - all one could possibly want really - although quite a hefty chunk of deposit and payments for a car you will not own.

Would you not have preferred buying?

Regards

Hi Mike

I think if you choose the D5 SE PREMIUM on the motability and add the specs you added plus the Lux specs you will be paying less deposit!!... Worth getting out your calculator...

Thanks volvorocks, it was a difficult decision in many ways...
Re the pricing, yes I have to admit on this occasion my wife and I did question our loyalty to Motability.
Unfortunately we were drawn in back in January when the price was nearly £2000 cheaper. Come the end of March before the new April prices we definitely had out hearts set on the XC60 and model previously mentioned, so when it then shot up in April that £2000 hit us hard mentally.
In a way I wish I had gone with the head and not the heart.
Okay, Motability means I don't have to pay any Insurances, Services, Breakdown Recovery etc. but that's only going to be a saving of about £600-£800 a year.
But to go for this vehicle under either HP or other means would mean a hefty deposit and a larger monthly payment plan.
Granted, at the end you either own the vehicle or a good part of it if you then carry this on to any future new vehicle.

I think basically what I am saying is we realize this time we have pushed the boat out a little too far in going with Motability.
I think this will either be our last lease with Motability, that or a much cheaper car with a lower deposit.

In the meantime, we are just going to enjoy the ride.....

Many thanks in trying to help but how so?
Under Motability
The SE Lux Premium is £7,089
The SE Premium is £4,589
That's a difference of £2,500

Now had I gone for the SE Premium we now notice at Volvo
The SE is £2,100
The SE Lux is £4,650

So to upgrade to the SE Lux would be an extra £2,550 which basically translates at £50 more.

Hi Mike

If you take the D5 SE Premium and add extras:

Security Pack £665

Winter pack with active bending lights £ 1025
(this will include the Heated Front Seats)

18" alloys of your choice £ 795
power electrical seat £ 630

Sunroof £1,075

F&R Park Assist (Parking Sensors Rear on SE OR SE Lux) £280
Park Assist Camera £615

Dark tinted Glass (Rear Side doors & Cargo area) £310
Premium Sound Multimedia Audio System upgrade £205
12 Speakers (as opposed to 8) & Better Sound.
Espresso Brown&Beige Leather Seats G116 ~ £0
Beige Steering Wheel ~ £0
Beige Auto Gear Stick ~ £0
Espresso Brown Dashboard ~ £0
Luxury Espresso Brown Floor Mates ~ £0
Tempa Spare wheel ~ £0
Total for Extras £5600

Total Motability Deposit + Extras [April Price]..4589 plus 5600 = 10189 as opposed to 10514 (saved 325 and ended with the same car!!!)

Cheers
